What is a double-sided bonded lining and what are its characteristics?
Double-sided bonded lining is made of hot melt adhesive, which is then meltblown and laid on a netting machine, which is very similar to a non-woven fabric.
The common double-sided adhesive lining is as thin as a cicada's wing and is more appropriately described as an adhesive rather than a lining. It is often used to adhere two pieces of fabric together, for example when laminating a fabric, and is very easy to use when sticking the fabric to the backing. There are also full rolls of double-sided adhesive backing on the market, which are useful when folding or rolling hems.
The double-sided liner is very simple to use, it is simply cut and placed between the two layers of material to be bonded, using a certain temperature, pressure and time. Double-sided bonding liners can be used on a wide range of fabrics, leather, plastics, metal, wood, paper, etc
Properties of double-sided fusible interlining
1. firmly bonded to the fabric, soft to the touch and with a high degree of stiffness and resilience after bonding, with a quick recovery from surface creases after bonding.
2. low bonding temperature, shrinkage in harmony with the fabric.
3. evenly applied adhesive, even fixation, no leakage of adhesive, ageing resistance and long term storage, the bonding properties remain unchanged.
4. No interlocking of the interlining fabric during cutting and no adhesion to the cutting shears.
5. No sticking of sewing needles and smoothness when feeding the sewing machine. 6.
6. No damage to the physiological properties of the garment, such as breathability and heat permeability.
